The official about page names Hattie Sullivan as Clerk of Court and says the Clerk is a constitutional officer elected by Richmond County voters to a four-year term. The Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority directory lists Hattie Holmes Sullivan as the Richmond County Clerk of Superior Court, year elected 2017, with courts managed as Superior, State, and Juvenile.
The clerk's role is broad. The office attends court sessions for Superior, State, and Juvenile Courts and files and maintains accurate records of those proceedings. It also records deeds, maintains the chain of title to county property, appoints notaries public, and records business and trade names and military discharges.
